Welcome,
to the home of Kismutt Rescue! Located on 50 acres of prime farm land,
Kismutt Rescue is a haven for our rescued dogs, with plenty of room
for exercise, and daily hikes to the woods.
The Kismutt Facility is a bright, clean and cheerfully
decorated safe house for the rescued dogs while their medical needs
are being met. Some of the Kismutt dogs are sent to foster homes, while
others stay at the facility until they are adopted.
The facility is climate controlled for the dogs comfort
and well being, and is decorated like "home", so the dogs
feel they are in a home environment. The dogs each have their own
Kuranda Beds to sleep on so they can relax and be comfortable.
Several pictures of the Kismutt Facility below -
Peter,
Peter-Pig, Pitty, Pitty-Pig, Pig-Pig..... I have many nicknames for
my beloved Pit Bull, who is not only my pride and joy, but the Kismutt
Mascot. He "owns" the farm, and loves everyone. Every rescue
dog that comes through the Kismutt doors is welcomed with kisses of
reassurance from Peter, and they all quickly bond with him. The shyest
of shy puppy mill dogs that come into rescue quickly build confidence
with Peter. They follow him around the farm and learn to go on hikes
with us to the woods. They may be still too frightened of humans,
but they cling to Peter and within a short time, they get excited
to go for our daily walks. He is truly a once in a lifetime dog who
is instrumental in the rehabilitation of the puppy mill dogs.
Hopper,
is the cat of Kismutt Rescue who has a big job! Before a dog can be
put up for adoption, we need to know if the dog is "good with
cats". This is where Hopper comes in ;) Hopper is a very easy
going cat who is laid back and dog friendly. If a dog shows signs
of not being friendly towards cats, he just snubs his nose at them,
turns on his heels and walks away. If they are friendly towards him,
he rubs up against them and purrrrrrrs happily. He is a GREAT cat!
