If you stumble upon a puppymill, and you feel the dogs are not being properly cared for, proceed with the following steps.
1) Write down the address of where the dogs are being kept.
2) Try to obtain the name and phone number of the owners/operators of the puppymill.
3) Document on paper the living conditions of the dogs. Examples:
Are the dogs lacking food and water? What are their living quarters like?
Do the dogs have adequate living space? Is there proper ventilation where the dogs are being kept?
Winter - are the dogs lacking warmth? Summer - are the dogs too hot?
Medical condition of dogs. Note any injuries or sickness.
Approx. how many dogs? What type of breeds?
4) Call: 1-888-668-7722 and provide the above information.

But What If? Question: What if I know of a puppymill or animal cruelty case and they are a neighbor, acquaintance or   co-worker of mine? I am afraid or leery to report them.

Answer: This happens all the time, and I understand your reluctance to lodge a complaint. I can help. You do not need to provide your name and personal information. I will need to know the address, name and phone number (if possible) of the abusers. You can email me at:  kismutt@sympatico.ca
